Organic textile experts to visit Australia

Global sustainability experts will explain how new cotton standards are shaping and securing supply for the future textiles and fashion industry at an evening lecture in Sydney on Tuesday 22 March between 5-6pm and again in Melbourne on Thursday 24 March starting at 6.30pm.

RMIT University in partnership with TFIA, invite to attend an evening lecture on the “Global Organic Textile Standard” – business opportunity in the sustainable cotton market.

This lecture gives you insight on how cotton sustainability standards are shaping and securing future supply within the fashion and textiles industry. The focus is on building better frameworks around people and planet securing and growing business profitability.

Together cotton and polyester make up approximately 80% of today’s global fibre usage. The issues around sustainability in cotton farming are numerous. Progressive thinking suggests we should reduce demand on cotton by designing differently and researching better farming methods.
